A special navigation system that helps blind people handle difficult situations such as crossing a busy intersection, finding the best pedestrian route or navigating the sidewalk.

Naviterier describes the route similarly as a human. In addition, it is connected to the SONS Navigation Center line that helps in the most critical situations. Naviterier can replace existing navigation systems and applications pointing out buildings and locations in the surrounding areas, it is more accurate, safer and customized for severely visually impaired persons.

Thanks to a number of user tests and research involving visually impaired persons, we are constantly discovering their needs and wishes. We have managed to meet many of them:

  • We operate throughout Prague;
  • You can use the GPS to check that you are on the right track;
  • We have added the SONS Navigation button which can be used to quickly get help from the SONS Navigation Center operators (please note that this service is subject to a fee);
  • We can tell you what is around you and determine what is on your side of the street and what is on the opposite side.

We combine years of research with your lives to allow you to be free, gain independence and enjoy a quality social life.

Coverage in the Czech Republic

Naviterier currently works throughout Prague with best coverage in the city Center near Karlovo naměstí, Václavské náměstí, Můstek, Florenc, Staroměstská, Malostranská, Újezd, Anděl, Palackého náměstí.

User Support

We provide user support via e-mail at podpora@naviterier.cz in Czech language. You can find answers to many questions in the Support section in Czech language. In addition, we regularly organize meetings and workshops with current and prospective users of Naviterier.

History of the Naviterier project at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague dates back to 2007. Since then, dozens of experiments were conducted with hundreds of visually impaired participants. The research results were used to design and implement a series of prototypes navigation applications and were presented at prestigious international conferences and journals.
